What a great twelve months it has been again for Waterford music. GORBACHOV swept aside all those who opposed them in the 'Murphy's Live' band competition, and FLOYD SOUL & THE WOLF won the Student band competition (thats two years in a row that Deise bands have done the double). ILYA K released their stunning debut album that we've all been waiting for, and this summer represented Waterford at Glastonbury & Electric Picnic- where they headlined on the 'Salty Dog Ship Stage' in the woods on the saturday night. UGLY MEGAN played in the Body & Soul at Electric Picnic and released their second E.P to great critical acclaim. YOU'RE ONLY MASSIVE have become the darlings of the the art & music scene with their ever expanding live shows and are getting rave reviews for their debut split vinyl album release with Queen Kong. Plus they also played a staring role at this years Electric Picnic - they had the great honour of being asked to play twice at this years fest. The DEAF ANIMAL ORCHESTRA boys found themselves a new legend of a guitar player and secured yet another single of the fortnight in HotPress. SWEET JANE have been touring all over Ireland and Europe with the great Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. DINOSUAR PETSHOP have been releasing a new tune almost once a month on their myspace. HALVES (comprising of Waterford's own Dave Scanlon and family) came up with some celestial music and the best artwork ever to come out of Ireland. ASHLEY SHEEHAN & Friends went a started up & coming electro band called FIGHTING SPIDERS. THE LULLABEES went and released a magnificent debut album. KATIE KIM has been singing on the new - soon to be released - David Kitt album, and plans to have her own limited addition, vinyl only, debut out in September. And then there's DAE KIM, GIVE ME ROSA, SAVIOURS OF SPACE, PERCOLATOR, THE RED EYE SOCIETY, THE CREAKS, SHANE BARRY & THE DISTRACTIONS, THE BEAR PEOPLE, KOTERBA, THE UNTZ KIDS, THE ARRANGEMENTS, THE HUSSARS, MOLOTOV APE, ORPHEUS, TRAPPED DEAR, NUMBER THEORY, DONAL CLANCY, DAVID POWER and many many more acts besides. Everyone is doin stuff it seems. And doing it well may i add. And so this is why the good people at Garter Lane & The Waterford City Council have come together to bring you the second installment of the Intravenous Music Exhibition.
